Jumbled Thoughts: Key Verses

Some verses that have been important to me.

  • Matthew 6:33 – Seek the Kingdom of God above all else
  • We love because he first lived us
  • I have longed to gather you in my arms like a hen gathers it chicks, but you are not willing.
  • God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  • Luke 12:35-40 – Be [ready] for your master to return… Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. … I tell you the truth, he himself will seat [you], put on an apron, and serve [you] as [you] sit and eat!
  • Luke 22:42 – I want your will to be done, not mine. / Not my will, but yours be done.
  • Exodus 14:14 – The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.
  • Psalm 16:8 – KJV – I have set the Lord always before me.
  • Revelation 3:20 – Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
  • Acts 17:27 – God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any of us. (NIV)
  • Taste and see that the Lord is good
  • Luke 1:25 – Elizabeth: The Lord has done this for me. In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.
  • Romans 8:12 – ~ I have no obligation to do what my sinful nature urges me to do.
  • Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge (submit to) him, and he will make your paths straight (show you the way to take).
  • Mark 4:24 – Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given – and you will receive even more.
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 – My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. … For when I am weak then I am strong.
  • Romans 8:25-26a – If we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently. And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness.
  • Romans 9:16 – It is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it.
  • Ezekiel 3:14b – I went in bitterness and turmoil, but the Lord’s hold on me was strong.
