Jumbled Thoughts: Random Wisdom

An unorganized list of bits of random wisdom I’ve collected recently.

  • The long spaces just to feel
  • Praise is the water my enemies drown in
  • Turn judgment into curiosity
  • Meekness is a preference for God’s will
  • God guides not by visible signs but by swaying the judgement
  • Tell yourself truth – Friend
  • Acceptance (from God) -> Significance/Sustenance -> Achievements, not Achievements -> Significance-> Acceptance
  • The work in our hearts is going to be done by God. The spiritual disciplines are just ways of putting us back before God again and again so that God can change us.
  • Focusing on other people (serving) lifts the weight off you. (What about focus on God?)
  • Intimacy with God grows from and creates further shard understanding.
  • You can’t buy manna in bulk
  • Life with God, not life for God
  • Prayer is taking with God and hearing from God about what God and I are doing together.
  • We must take up a consciously chosen course of action that place us before God in such a way that he can work the righteousness of the Kingdom into us. – Richard Foster
  • Jesus is the fulfillment of my soul
  • The loudest influence in our life will be the biggest guide in our judgments.
  • Turning your inward attention to God
  • More important than how frequently or intensely we practice the disciplines is that our intention is to always be available to God. – Ordinary Saint p84
